teoria

"We need to examine our own background assumptions to reveal and explain our selections, priorities and prejudices because 'all forms of social analysis...raise important questions about the moral and the cultural constitution of the observer'. In the theory of international relations we are as concerned with how we approach the study of world politics as we are with the events, issues and actors in the global system. We need to understand how individuals think about their world by promoting a wider self-awareness of our own belief systems. As Linklater argues, 'all social analysts (should) reflect upon the cognitive interests and normative assumptions which underpin their research'. It should be remembered that the 'international' is refracted through the mind of the observer. Constitutive international theory is directly concerned with the importance of human reflection on the nature and character of world politics".

Agora adapta-se o parágrafo à teoria económica e ler-se-ia:

"We need to examine our own background assumptions to reveal and explain our selections, priorities and prejudices because 'all forms of social analysis...raise important questions about the moral and the cultural constitution of the observer'. In economics we are as concerned with how we approach the study of the economy as we are with the events, issues and actors in the economic system. We need to understand how individuals think about their world by promoting a wider self-awareness of our own belief systems. As Linklater argues, 'all social analysts (should) reflect upon the cognitive interests and normative assumptions which underpin their research'. It should be remembered that the 'economic' is refracted through the mind of the observer. Constitutive economic theory is directly concerned with the importance of human reflection on the nature and character of the economy".
